Since 1988, Acumed has focused its efforts on solving complicated fractures of the upper and lower extremities. Our products reflect commitment to innovation, quality, and customer service. Acumed, originally named Accurate Machine and Design, was founded by Mary and Randy Huebner in 1988 in New Jersey. The Huebners had a vision of creating a niche company, focused on trauma products. Their goal was to create innovative products that also improved patient care. Initially, the company occupied 1100 square feet and had three employees. Acumed started out almost exclusively engineering and creating prototypes for other companies. One such product, the Bipolar Acetabular Cup, was licensed by Acumed to Exactech, and is still sold today.
